Skateboard Exhibition – Custom Skate Decks
This was a Skateboard Art exhibition held in Canberra, where I was asked to create a skate art piece along with many other skateboard artists to celebrate the opening of David Pang’s skating photography artworks.
Civic Art Bureau presents 60/Sixty, an exhibition and book featuring skate photography by David Pang alongside a large installation of painted and sculptural skateboard decks by over fifty artists from Canberra and beyond. The project is part of the 2026 Belco Bowl Jam, marking its 25th anniversary.
Photographing Australian skateboarding since the late 1980s, Pang has documented both international riders and local scenes at iconic locations including Spence Drains, Kambah Halfpipe, Belco Bowl, and the heritage-listed Erindale Banks. His photographs of Tony Hawk skating Erindale helped support its heritage recognition, while his work has also appeared internationally in Thrasher.
Titled in reference to the 50/50 trick and Pang’s 60th birthday, 60/Sixty presents a curated selection of sixty images from his archive, alongside original deck works by artists including Abyss.607, ATUNE, BASIX, BYRD, Angus Comyns, Thom Crowhurst, HOUL, HAPPY DECAY, JINX, KID PARIS, Mosaic Mofos, Mers, ODYSE, PAW, SETLER, Sweigz, and TEAZER.
