Sharpie Mural Feature Artist Sydney
This was a great project to work on as the selected artist to represent Sharpie at The Big Design Market in Sydney.
My role as the artist was to create a large-scale mural, using illustration, and colour it over the three days of the Big Design Market. The markets themselves see around 50,000 to 60,000 shoppers over their three-day run.

I was able to create an imaginary landscape and use the bold, colourful palette of Sharpie Creative Markers. I also extended the artwork to items such as crocs, a tote bag, a T-shirt, sunnies and an iPhone case.

Sharpie Mural
This Sharpie mural was created using the Sharpie creative markers. It took under 3 days to complete. After completing the artwork for this small-scale mural, it would definitely work at a larger scale.

Sharpie Markers FAQ’s
While using the Sharpie creative markers, I got asked quite a few questions about them, so here are some of the common ones.
Sharpie Creative Markers are permanent on certain surfaces, such as paper. The markers have a water-based ink, which has similar permanency as water-based paint.
Sharpie Creative Markers work great on just about anything you can think of! They mark boldly on paper, metal, wood, ceramic, glass, rock, canvas, and more!
Yes you can! Depending on the type of fabric being used, results can vary. These markers work best on stiffer materials. Use a sealant to properly fix the markings to the fabric.
We recommend hand-washing to best preserve the integrity of the markings on fabric. If you do wash clothes that have been marked on in the washing machine, a delicate cycle would be recommended to minimize any fading.
These markers are water-based, while most Sharpie Paint Markers are oil-based. Sharpie Creative Markers can be used on paper without bleeding through. Also, Sharpie Creative Markers feature a more flexible nib that does not require prepping or priming like a traditional paint marker.
