The Gift of a Mural
Year 12 students from St Peter’s Anglican College in Broulee wanted to gift the school with a mural. HAPPY DECAY was the selected mural artist to come into the school to run a mural workshop and create and paint the mural.
School Mural to Evoke the Imagination
The mural artwork was created around the theme of the local landscape, in particular, Broulee Island, Canedaliagan Creek, Mossy Point and the northern end of Broulee Beach.
There was also the Amegilla cingulata a species of blue-banded bee native to Australia to be included in the mural.
The mural artwork also encourages the viewer’s imagination from the junior school to senior students.
The mural location within the school was between two new buildings and a long concrete pathway. The mural colours will help soften the industrial elements and add to the feeling of the environment.
