Penrith Waste Services wants to hold a fun, educational, and creative community event that includes community engagement.
About the Event
Grow with your community! Planting seeds of fun after lockdown.
Come join your community on October 16th for a free of fun gardening activities, sausage sizzle, live music, giveaways and a special appearance from the bearded man himself, Costa!
This event brings you activities for all ages! With live music, you’ll be swept away into the unbelievable wonderland that is Thornton Community Garden. After a live demonstration from Vegepod, grab some free compost to take home and help you build your own backyard beauty!
Let’s all ‘Grow’ together as a community and build each other up after lockdown.
At this event, we are holding a free tote bag screen printing activity and would love to collaborate with you again on a couple of designs.
For the ‘circular economy’ design we would like a two-tone design so we can use two screens at the event. Like the maroon/ pink tote bag in the brief I sent.
For the ‘never waste a chance’ design we would like one flat colour design for screen printing and another coloured design to use for socials.
Design Brief
2 x Designs for Tote Bag Screen Printing.
We are holding a free tote bag screen printing activity. The first design should embody Waste Services’ messaging of ‘Circular Economy’. “The circular economy is a model of production and consumption, which involves sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing, and recycling existing materials and products as long as possible. In this way, the life cycle of products is extended. In practice, it implies reducing waste to a minimum. When a product reaches the end of its life, its materials are kept within the economy wherever possible. These can be productively used again and again, thereby creating further value.” We would like for this design to involve e elements related to our FOGO (Food Organics Garden Organics) service as it embodies a circular economy by ensuring food ‘waste’ is used as a resource for the environment.
For the second design, we are still using the ‘Never Waste a Chance’ messaging which can be incorporated into the second design. This could be a reinterpretation of your mural project, completed for re-animate festival.
The designs will be transferred onto a screen for printing. We want the designs to be full and exciting and influence people to make more considered choices regarding their waste habits.
Both designs will be used for this event as well as promotional use for Waste Services on social media.
Goals/ visions/ objectives
