Mackay Street Art Mural in Laneway
Thanks to Jodie from Mackay Laneway Project and Mackay Regional Council for the Activate My Place grant.
This mural was painted in the 9th Laneway in Mackay. The laneway is a connection thoroughfare for the community accessing cafes and one of the main streets.
The laneway mural makes for a colourful surprise and reactivates the space and opens it up to being used for events and other town activities.
Street Art Mural Meaning
This street art focuses on two things. One is the idea of evoking people’s imagination when viewing it and the other is based on the nearby care and importance of the reef and ocean.
If we look after the ocean it in turn helps look after the growth of the reef so we can enjoy its beauty and colour.
