Elevating Work Platforms (EWP) License – Yellow Card
For large wall murals, it is more than likely you are going be needing to use an Elevating Work Platforms then you may need to have a Yellow Card / EWP licence for heights below 11metres.
Some organisations may require to see that you have a yellow card before using an EWP that is below the 11metre height. You can hire an EWP below 11metres without the yellow card too.
A Yellow Card lets you operate 5 different types of elevating work platforms though you will need to check with the course which EWP you will be trained in:
- scissor lifts (SL)
- self-propelled boom lifts (BL)
- truck-mounted booms (TM)
- trailer-mounted boom lifts (TL)
- vertical lifts (VL)
Scissor Lift Certificate
A course to get a scissor lift license takes around half a day and prices will vary depending upon the service providing the training. I have seen these range from $345 – $490 for the day. The Scissor lift was part of the Yellow Card course and there are 5 different lift types as noted above.
If you are looking for a course in Canberra then Bluetron offers a Yellow card course.
