Glenwood Skate Space
The Glenwood skate space, located in Alwyn Lindfield Reserve, provides the growing Blacktown population with a youth precinct to foster a sense of community and create a positive synergy between skaters, sports groups, casual park users and the Glenwood community.
The skate space was designed to be inclusive in nature, encouraging all members of the community to be involved, from girls and women to persons with disabilities and culturally/ linguistically diverse groups.
Street art was used as a visual touch point to engage the community within a public space.
Street Art Overview
A short interview on the artwork at the skatepark and surroundings.
The theme included energy, movement, nature, creativity, organic shapes and birds. The bird idea is playing on the idea of taking flight, and getting air and is also common to see in the parkland.
