Warilla ECO Street Festival Mural
Shellharobur City Council engaged my services as a mural artist to paint a live community mural as part of their eco-focused street festival in Warilla.
Eco Eats and Beats Street Festival
The Eco Eats and Beats Street Festival brings together eco-friendly fun with diverse entertainment. Enjoy food trucks, long-table seating with upcycled decor, and live local music. Participate in recycling and sustainability workshops, explore the upcycled market, and enjoy nature-themed play areas for kids. Street performances and a live mural painting add vibrant energy to the event.
The mural theme was focused on the word ECO. It stems from the Greek word oikos, meaning house or habitat, which in this context refers to the natural world as our collective “home.”
The mural’s idea focused on the natural area of Warilla as a living thing. Emphasizing care for nature and sustainability. The mural celebrates the eco theme, highlighting the interconnectedness of nature and human life.
Using vibrant colours and natural elements, this eco-themed mural promotes sustainability and respect for the environment.
Community Mural Input
While I was there painting, people who lived in the area would tell me stories of the place, and we would add new little details to the mural based on their stories. The mural visually works from a distance then up close you can enjoy playful details.
