Mural for Radford College in Canberra

Radford College is located in Bruce in Canberra, the school grounds cover an area of approximately 46 acres.

Within the building structures, there are numerous corridors and walls facing where students walk and spend their break times.

This particular use of street art was to create a new feeling without changing the building structure. The incorporation of mural art creatively transformed the space.

The murals/street art infused a collaboration of natural bushland plants along with the vibrant use of colours from the vegetation. The artwork infused an element of pattern styling from the plants along with some abstraction to evoke the student’s imagination.

The artwork creates a welcoming space and engages the buildings to become part of the artwork. Students and staff can enjoy this space whether they are taking their break or walking through this part of the college.
