Anti-Graffiti Paint Types

There are two primary types of anti-graffiti paints or coatings. The main difference is the durability of the protective coating.

Scarfacial coating

The first type is referred to as a “sacrificial coating.” A sacrificial anti-graffiti coating is a transparent substance applied to a surface that can be removed (typically using a high-pressure washer) if the surface has been defaced. This leaves the underlying surface clean, allowing for the application of a new sacrificial coating.

Non-scarfacial coating

The second type of anti-graffiti paint is a permanent coating that prevents graffiti paint from adhering or bonding to the surface. Anti-graffiti paint typically exhibits good chemical resistance and is highly durable, enabling it to withstand multiple graffiti removals with harsh cleaning solutions.
